Location: To Be Confirmed

Join us for a workshop designed for businesses eager to enhance their tourism potential, increase revenue, and contribute to growing the array of visitor experiences showcasing The Great Wilderness™ (TGW) in Northeast BC.

Working collaboratively, Destination BC, Northern BC Tourism Association, Indigenous Tourism BC, and Tourism Cafe Canada are offering Beyond the Horizon: The Great Wilderness Experience Development Program, which supports Destination BC’s Invest in Iconics Strategy. The Strategy aims to responsibly increase tourism's benefits by marketing globally compelling place and route brands and delivering a much-enhanced destination experience. Stretching across Northern BC, The Great Wilderness™ (TGW) is the second iconic place brand to launch globally.

We’re inviting businesses, organizations, and individuals to learn more about the program, what’s influencing tourism experience development, and the opportunities and benefits to businesses and communities.  Topics include:

  • Discover influential trends and dynamic shifts shaping tourism and influencing visitor demand that can stimulate new ideas
  • Discover the highlights from our Regional Visitor Experience Assessment of  Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Tumbler Ridge, Dawson Creek and Taylor that examined these  the traveller’s perspective
  • Hear inspiring examples of successful experience development that has generated new revenue and visitation to businesses and destinations
  • Understand the key characteristics of Northeastern BC’s ideal guests; learn how to create tourism experiences that align with their travel motivations and interests
  • Gain insights into the experience design process - move from  concept to ready-for-market
  • Brainstorm opportunities for new or expanded experience development around the Northeast loops and spurs that build on the findings from the Regional Visitor Experience Assessment

Register today to save the date in your calendars. More details to follow. We are working to confirm the location and encourage in-person participation. We are considering the possibility of a virtual option, to encourage wide participation from across the vast Northeast region.
