Job Description

Northern BC Tourism Association (NBCTA) is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Project Coordinator.

Our team is small, but mighty. What we need is an energetic, independently minded, professional, and organized project coordinator who can execute our marketing campaigns and other projects and improve on them.

 

Summary of Position: 

The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Northern BC Tourism Marketing team and partners to support promoting Northern BC as a remarkable and sustainable travel destination. 

 

This position is responsible for the effective coordination and project management of the region's marketing initiatives including project management, stakeholder engagement, campaign coordination - including paying close attention to all details and moving parts of complex campaigns with multiple stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

Community Coordination: 

  • Schedule regular meetings with partners to support sub-regional marketing efforts and manage all aspects of the meeting (i.e. creating agenda, distributing meeting notes etc) 
  • Proactively ensure all Northern BC marketing efforts are aligned with community goals. 
  • Work with community partners and NBCTA team to communicate, schedule meetings, create minutes and track action items 
  • Fielding questions and feedback from community stakeholders, with support from the team

 

Campaign Coordination: 

  • Work with agencies to schedule meetings and manage deadlines and deliverables as laid out in contractual agreements 
  • Assure that all deadlines related to projects are met 
  • Work with agencies on social media ad buys
  • Writing marketing copy and organizing photo and video assets as required 
  • Manage social media channels related to campaigns

 

Administrative Duties 

  • Managing and tracking an ongoing budget through spreadsheets and online project management programs is an integral part of this role
  • The successful candidate will be tracking ingoing and outgoing expenditures against multiple budget streams on a weekly basis
  • Write and support grant applications as required 
  • Report on campaign traction and results to partners
  • Become familiar and comfortable with project management software (organization currently uses Airtable) to manage all aspects of multiple projects, assign team members with work and ensure all deliverables are met on budget and on schedule 


Job Requirements & Qualifications 

  • An extremely organized and detail-oriented individual who has a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects at one time 
  • Very strong communication skills and a proven ability to present projects to stakeholders and generate buy-in 
  • Must be comfortable designing and writing copy for email newsletters and websites  
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Google Drive, G-suite, PowerPoint presentations and spreadsheets 

 

Other qualifications not required but considered an asset (successful candidate will be trained) 

  • Experience in Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Final Cut)
  • Experience in social media management platforms 
  • Experience with Airtable or other Project Management software 
  • Experience with WordPress or other CMS 
  • Experience in copywriting and editing
  • Experience in Digital Asset Management
  • Experience in grant writing 
  • Ability to report on, and analyze, digital metrics and provide reporting on all digital marketing efforts 
  • Knowledge and experience with designing assets in Canva 
  • Knowledge and experience with Mailchimp 

 

This is a temporary full time 1-year contract position with eligibility for benefits after a 3 month probation period and a strong opportunity to continue past the one year mark based on performance and funding. The ideal start date is September 14, 2022. 

 

Location: This position has the ability to work from anywhere in Northern BC. Travel may be required. 

Salary Range: $48,000 - $53,000 per annum
