Northern BC Tourism has been on the road!
From January 16 through 24 we attended the Quartzite Sports, Vacation & RV Show in Quartzite, Arizona. We were there as a representative of North to Alaska, a consortium of provinces and states that target Alaska-bound travellers. The show has annual attendance of 150 thousand people and this year was as busy as ever. Wiith the Canadian dollar being low along with fuel prices, we expect to see an increase in RV traffic on our roads this coming summer!
We also just attended the Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show on February 26 and 27, along with representatives from Thompson Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Kootenay Rockies. Our group also shared information about BC's two other tourism regions, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast and Vancouver Coast and Mountains.
Visitor count at this show was slightly down from previous years, however, less traffic provided more opportunity for one-to-one counselling with over 2,500 potential travellers. To add additional value to the event, we also presented an overview of the province's tourism opportunities at the Destination Theatre.
